Katya Palsi

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LSW

Katya Palsi, MSW, LSW, is a New Jersey–licensed psychotherapist with seven years of clinical experience between internships and jobs and more than a decade of experience delivering education on mental illness, healthy relationships, consent, and social issues in schools, community organizations, and clinical settings. She holds a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and additional certification in interpersonal relationships, including domestic and sexual violence.

Her practice is grounded in a person-centered, neurobiological, trauma‑informed, and strengths‑based framework. Katya uses a range of evidence‑based modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness‑Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness‑Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Interpersonal and Relational Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) - and integrates elements of Positive Psychology, Somatic Experiencing, and yoga‑based approaches, to promote psychological safety, emotion regulation, empowerment, connection, and lasting change.

She provides individual, family, and group therapy to children (8+), adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors. Katya builds strong therapeutic rapport with diverse clients and is especially experienced with neurodivergence (including Autism, ADHD, AuDHD) and LGBTQIA+ populations. She addresses a broad range of concerns, including low self‑esteem, anxiety, relationship difficulties, mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), and hormone‑related mood conditions such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Katya emphasizes psychoeducation and compassionate, nonjudgmental expression, encouraging clients to speak openly regardless of social norms. She partners collaboratively with clients to amplify their agency, autonomy, and self‑advocacy - fostering increased self‑esteem, insight, and removal of barriers rather than prescribing what clients should think or choose.
